I just wanted to start a thread where we can all share the things harvested from the wild and the things you have made from them.

I’m quite interested in finding things that grow locally that I can harvest.

Yesterday I foraged some high bush cranberries and made a jam.

I love picking wild raspberries, look much different then the store bought ones;)

Thats awesome. Id love some of that jam.

I'll be collecting honey from some of my hives soon, but to be fair they're not exactly wild. We have wild blueberries on the farm as well.

Other than that, i go foraging for morels every spring. They only grow for a short while though.

These jars are spoken for haha but I will be collecting one more cup to make three more jars.

I’m not sure if I can ship it out of Canada but you pay for shipping and I don’t mind sending a jar if I can.

Your honey totally counts!!

What else do you forage for?

If i have the time I'll be on the lookout for chestnuts and persimmons these next couple months.

I forgot about Morels! In college we would go pick what we could find. We would also trout fish in a stream near by, fond memories of Morels and grilled trout, yum.

I once shot a wild sow hog at about 100 ft with a .44 black powder revolver. I stalked up to them on foot. There were two of them, shot twice at the first and my aim was high, after shot two they started moving. Shot 3 did the job, put a hole thru both lungs, ran 15 ft and dropped. I'd guesstimate 150 pounds. I crept up to the along the riverbank, they were behind a slight rise.

My Al Bundy moment, I shall relive forever
