Im getting my wife some tickets to see Wicked for Christmas up in Chicago at the Ford Theater. Problem is, I dont know jack about this fancy play stuff. Can anyone help me pick a good seat? For example, is sitting in say the first five rows in the Orchestra but to the L or R better then sitting in the last few rows but in the center? What about the dress circle and balconies? Is it worth saving $50-75 to sit up there? How big is the place? Is balcony seating so far back you cant really see anything? I dont mind dropping some coin but Id like to keep it less then $170 a ticket. Any suggestions?! :nilly:

Well that's what the place looks like according to ticketmaster.

As for where...judging by that map (haven't been to that theater) avoid the extreme edges of the Dress Circle or balcony. Or the extreme edges of the L/R Orchestra.

Balcony seating isn't normally bad if you are in the center and not waaaaaay up at the top (saw row U :p). Depends on the venue though.

If the edges you listed are extreme, I would probably take either the back of the center orchestra, or anywhere from mid-left to mid-right on the balcony if the seats are all the way at the top of it.

Regardless, my Wicked tickets were free and in the mid-left side of the balcony at the venue I went to, about halfway up. Not the best, but the show was fantastic anyway.

I appreciate it man. Ive seen the seating charts but its kind of hard to really visualize it in 3D as to how exactly you would be sitting.

A problem with buying the tickets online that Ive run to is that Im not really getting seat numbers, rather Orchestra-L for example. I wouldnt mind sitting to one side as long as it wasnt up against the wall. With out seat numbers I guess its a gamble huh?

Any tips on getting good deals for tickets too?
