Forgot about the crabs

Howdy,

I threw out some floating plants today, and there was a crab running over the cork bark that I was holding. Scared the heck out of me! I had completely forgotten that I introduced crabs half a year ago. Found two crabs upon closer inspection, another on the filter outlets. They seem to be smart enough to hide from the pirayas. i remember when you added those. I know you have no way of knowing with that amazing planted tank but i wonder how many are there.

I had a crab escape the other night, the wife smashed it thinking it was a scorpion......don't ask me.

I use to have a crab till it climbed out of my 75 somehow and i found it 3 months later dried up on the carpet behind the tank.

There is no escape from my tank: This is what my canopy looks like:

what do they feed on usually? scraps left over from your pirayas?

I guess they just scavenge whatever they get. Maybe catch a newborn Endler, maybe a red cherry shrimp here or there, and probably fillet shreds.

you are not kidding when you say there's no escape. what did you use to cut the plastic back strip? I could never get mine to be that neat.
