I did a partial water change 2 days ago before i went on a 3 day vacation , when i got back today found that my sumps pump was not plugged in , should i be worried? Or cam bacteria survive for 3 days in sump?
My tank does have another filter , but not sure if it has enough bacteria to handle tanks bio load with the sump

If you have bacteria supporting media like Bio balls or something, you should be fine.

My readings are that if they dry out, that they die. Same goes for if they are without a food source for "a while." I can't point to studies, but that's what others have suggested, so I'd do testing, feed very moderately and use a bit of caution.

This will vary between those in the sump that are wet and moist versus those that might actually be on surfaces that dried out. You almost certainly have lots all over the sump that are fine, and they will re plenish. But they their demographics are not explosive and you may not have the same bioload capacity you had before.

Depends on how dirty your sump was, if it hasn't been cleaned recently chances are it didn't survive. I forgot to plug in my fx5 once and almost 2 days later I realised, luckily I cleaned it out a week before, so the water stayed somewhat fresh, its not so much about food as it is stagnant water. Just test your water.

I'd clean out the sump. I would bet your tank will be fine until the bacteria reestablishes itself.

That is why one should have pumps working within the sump.

In my sumps i allways return part of the water to the opposite side of the sump and on and on.

I have around 3 pumps per sump. Without counting on the return pump...
