Formalin and Aquari-sol ?

I was wondering if either one or these fish meds have an impact on biological filtration?

Formalin does, I don't know about aquari-sol but it will be hard on snails and crustaceans as it contains copper sulfate.

ok do you have personal experience with formalin or did you get your info from somewhere? I was asking because I could not find any info on either of these products bio filter effects.
