has anyone used formalin for treating fungus on fish eggs? recently had a pair of thorichthys malcupinnis breed for the first time but day 2 some fungus. id prefer not to use methlyn blue and have a big bottle of formalin already. all the eggs are fungused over yet, would it be worth it to try to save 50% of them? i know it may take a couple tries for them but just trying to plan ahead 9CF9B76B-FBC6-415F-A087-03DBC3CFF57E.jpeg99E3DFED-8119-49D3-84FB-9FF47D99721D.jpegthanks!

I can help with that but I just wanted to congradulate you on the spawn. Firemouths right?

Believe methylene blue for fish eggs but Tom should know.

Sorry for the late reply tbh it looks like it's too late the other eggs are probably affected already. When I could remove eggs particularly Senegal Polypterus I would add a couple drops of Methylen Blue. Tbh never used Formalin. I would wait for them to spawn again and hopefully they will eat the bad eggs and tend to the fertile ones. Congrats on your first spawn.

Maracyn is a abx and doesn’t treat fungus as far as i know. It’ll prevent bacterial infection.
