looks like a weathered Petosky stone (fossil coral). If the pits don't go all the way through, it should grind and polish nicely.
Do you know how I could grind and polish that? I don't want to mess it up, its pretty neat. Or do you know a place that could clean it up a little?
I find fossils all the time around here and I have no idea what they are. Mostly shells and little critters sometimes they are on pieces connected to chert.
I have these two teeth as well, I think the one is a deer, but the other I think could be pretty old, or not even a tooth at all just an just a rock that looks like one. I'll post some other shoreline finds too, I am lucky to live in a place where I can find some pretty cool stuff.
Here is an old bottle I found.
Here are some artifacts from the lake shore, I always think its sad when I find them how they got chased out of town, I don't think all the points are arrowheads, again I am no expert, just like to find aquarium stone and run across some cool stuff in the process.
I have about a dozen rocks with holes drilled in them, maybe beads, if anyone is interested I could take some pics and upload them, I find alot of stuff.
Basically anything that falls off the bank or washes up.

I have some skinners and other big flint or chert artifacts from the indians as well if the thread takes off I can post pics. It is the photo lounge after all.
