Fossochromis rostratus pic

This is my biggest african right now....Fossochromis rostratus.
This one is a male, 13" and growing. Breeding like mad and full of fight.
Pic from today:

this is a fish that most people never have a chance to see in full coloration - and truly the pic doesn't do it justice. iridescent as all hell with colors that change with the angle of light. I compare them to opals a lot, with firey colors under cool blues.

man that is a nice cichlid i have some africans but i just started but mine only get like five inches but again he is a sweet cichlid

Yes, what a wonderful boy you have there. How long have you had that one? My heart lies with my South Americans, but I love the way Africans color up (hence my 2 african tanks..lol)

Very very nice collection. Fossies are my favorite of the malawi haps. Miss my old male I had. Love the rest ot the fish too, that is an awsome champsochromis.
