Wish I had more pics... some time last year wanted to try rays, ran across a lfs with some small retics that would not eat, thought I could save and do this...lfs says buy two I'll give you the third free he knew they werent gonna make it in a 30 gal, so I got all three($100).. put em in my 220 seperated from stock, pretty much cause I new that was my cleanest, best, stablest tank, then notice their tails were fungusing up and of course they wouldnt eat, for the safety of the others in the 220, I placed em in a 5gal yes yes a 5g, before you get all crazy let me finish, while in the 5 I medicated with 84temp salt melafix and pimafix with X3 water changes, still not eating, was trying blood worms and ghost shrimp but they seemed lessed stress somehow visualy fish keeper instinct? after 2 days I slowly added sand all buried instantly, also added two neon tetras both ended up headless, day 3 an 4 all were eating blood worms not an issue using only a sponge filter, hopefully with results I shouldnt get flamed for tank size and filter lol, anyhow after bout a week of mad water changes with meds described the fungus was gone and they were eating blood worms fine, I got the 55g set up for them and made the transfer, once in there they were little beasts had to switch from blood worms to chopped night crawlers cause of filtration suckin the blood worm mess and they adapted fine, once I knew they were healthy and strong I called LFS and made a deal for a large bag of jumbo sticks and massivore for em, yes maybe should have kept em but was about saveing them and testing my skills to do so if you read all that sorry for long right up but saw a recent thread about death curl and yes its fixable wish I had took more pics but I was stressed with situation, but I did get one of death curl pic seven she was worse than pic shows lifting disc all round repeatedly eh fixed her, as you can see without further a do Pics... just thought I'd share the experience to give hope that death curl is just ray curl not necessarily death...
