I found a drilled 180 gallon tank with a reef capable light, stand, and sump...all used, for $600.00. Do you think that is a good price?

The sump doesn't come with any pumps or media either, just the actual sump itself. It is a really nice light that comes with it though, even has those cool purple nighttime lights. What would you be willing to pay?

i would pay the $600 and sell the salt stuff and buy a couple FX5's and fish and stuff

Thats a good idea. I might be turning my 55 gallon into a salt tank though, and that light would be really good for starting a reef tank. I think I'm gonna go ahead and get this stuff. 600 seems pretty good to me.

Actually those arent night time lights the are actinic bulbs. - anywho, what type of fixture its it? because you can sell the light on the 'Bay and recover some of the money. Is it cleaned up nice? if not a razor blade will take all of the coraline algae off.

$600 seems a seems alittle steep to me, unless it has halides or something. Offer him $500 cash.

$600 is a little on the expensive side, but it all depends on the condition of the setup. glass? acrylic? hows the stand? scratches in tank? also, some of those lights can be very expensive, so that might make it worth the price.

does lighting have metal halides? T5HO? power compacts?

perhaps the "nightlights" are the LED moonlights

I'll have to get back to you on exactly what kind of light it is but...its a glass tank, only a year old. No scratches at all on the tank or the stand. Its a nice oak stand with doors and all that, not a homemade pos. I was told the light was originally $350 just by itself, the tank was $1200, the stand was $400, and the sump was $250. The only reason the guy is selling the stuff is because he moved and had to downgrade to a 120 gallon. He didn't have room for a 7 foot tank in the space he wanted to put it in.
