I found a source for some CB epaulettes (H. hallstromi). The best part of it is that they are the smaller species, so ~2' should be the max. Since they are cb, I also get the added benefit of not taking away from wild sources. I think they should do well in the 375g (500g system).

I'll take pics when they arrive.

Yes, that's him. I've talked to him a few times over about 6-8 months, and I should have them in a week and a half or so.

If they are the sharks I am thinking of. I have doubts that they are H halstromi. Collection in PNG does not make them halstromi. Anyway they looked like great healthy pups. Your system will work well for them, either way.

I'll get some pics up when I get them in. I have some pics he sent me earlier today, but I'll hold off on those as they aren't mine to post. But, they are likely the ones you're thinking of. Well, we'll see what they turn out to be.

What did your 4 turn out to be?

Edit:
Actually, just looking at the pics of the mother, the spotted fins pretty much point to H. ocellatum.

My 4 are down to two. One was eaten by a smaller sized wobbie. Another I sold. I am sure that pair posted is halstromi. Their range overlaps and you think that hybrids could exist. I've never heard if it though.

I had an ornate wobby for a while until he tried to eat a harlequin tusk. Ultimately, I sold him to a store that has some room for a few sharks. Not sure what ever happened to that guy, but he was cool.... for a shark that didn't move much, lol.

Anyway, we'll see what happens with these.

Interesting to see that these pups have also made their way to DiversDen. It's labeled there are a hallstromi as well. I talked to the seller and he said he sold the rest to them. I think it's a really cool sight to see that these are known CB and making their way into main stream channels. Granted, they are a bit pricier when they hit the live aquaria site, but still cool to see. Mine are doing very well, and this Friday will mark their 3rd week in quarantine. Around 6 weeks and I'll add them into the sump tank section for grow out.

I couldn't agree more... I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see CB sharks popping up. It really gives me hope that species even more suited to aquarium life (freycenetti, cough cough) will come in. They'd be super expensive to obtain, but once you get a breeding group going the ROI would be huge.
