Hi. SO my uncle passed away recently, RIP. My cousin was appointed executor of the estate for his father and he invited me to help him with doing an inventory of his Dad's belongings. In the basement I found tucked away an old AquaKing filter, brand new in the box. The box was so old, there was no upc label or product code of any kind. It was in great shape though, no mold or decay at all. My uncle had his basement heated and ventilated with air conditioning, the man was a smart cookie. I told my cousin Matt about it and he said, sure if you want it it's yours. Matt knows about my hobby, so I took it. Plus, no one in my family is into the aquarium hobby, so I guess it was luck. When I arrived home, I removed the copper staples keeping the box shut ( I don't think my uncle opened it), the filter was brand new and looked like it was all amde yesterday. Everything was in plastic bags and such. Instructions showed NO signs of decay or yellowing- they looked brand spanking new.
Are these filters any good or are they too old nowadays. It has a top mounted pump above the clear plastic container. I haven't run it yet. Just thought I would collect people's opinions on the matter.
