My son and I went to morgan bay today and splashed around in the water today, and found some sweet driftwood. Im soaking it in a solution 1/5 bleach and water in a rubbermaid trash can. I will empty it out tomorrow then change out the water daily for the next month. The bay is brackish and on some of the pieces you can see barnicles. I plan on siliconing them to some cinder block pavers to weigh them down and may let a few just float. Here are a few pics.:eek3:The pieces are solid and not rotted I cut the down to fit into barrel with skill saw, so I have a flat surface to adhere it to the pavers.
Let me know what ya guys think.

I've hunted driftwood out of the Ohio River before. I got some nice pieces. Some gnarly roots and some long logs as well. I pulled one out that was over 100" long. The ones I really wanted were too heavy to carry off though...

Far out conner, it was quite refreshing to get out in the woods with my 12 year old. He's got a great eye for these things. Not to mention a good strong back to help his old man carry them. LOL

HAHA I just read about putting wild driftwood into the dishwasher. Im gonna do it while the wifey is out of the house.

I found this in a local stream. It's by far the neatest piece I've found. I have a 55g drum full of less than stellar pieces I was going to use as a DIY background.
