just a little while ago he was full of slime and floating at the top..i flushed him and checked the water and everything is fine..id been feeding him regularly and he didnt look sick at all last i saw him...what happend?:(

Water parameters? Tank size and tankmates? Foods used?

how long have you had him he might not have been used to your tank
i've had a few fish try to kill themselves i lost a lionfish to that

water params were 0ammonia 0 nitrite and a little nitrate...the normal and my tank is a 23gal with 3 tiger barbs..he was about 2" but no one in the tank would fight

What foods did you use and how often do you feed them? Do you have other loaches in it?

he was in the tank for about 2 months...i fed him shrimp pelets and sometimes he would steal some brineshrimp from the barbs

Hmmm...How long have you had the shrimp pellets? Do you buy fish foods that can be consumed within 4 months? Have you added anything to your tank? Your case really stumped me. What test kit are you using?

maybe the food was stale? i still havent even gotten 1/4 way through the container..
Check the expiration date of the shrimp pellets. If in doubt, throw it away and get a new one that can be consumed within two months or less. Bad food quality can cause digestive upsets to fish. Try New Life Spectrum, Omega, Hikari or Sera.
