I think.. I grew out a bunch of red dragons from from Pat (rainnybetta) about 2 years ago. I eventually ran out of space for the ones I didn't want so I traded this one into the LFS probably a year and half ago. Looking back at my photobucket these were the last 2 pictures I took of him.

If you look at the flowerline really good it matches up in a lot of places. I know he was more colorful in my possession but the substrate and background could be the cause of that and I'm sure I was feeding him better foods also. What do you guys think? Same fish?

If you compare the right teardrop of your fh with the fh on craigslist, it doesn't match.. The teardrop would be twice bigger than it was before.. but overall they do look similar.. siblings, maybe?

I'll wait for some more opinions. The patterns match up to me. The teardrop is there you just have to look closer. Just look at the flowerline it's to close to be a different fish IMO. Even the colors match up perfectly. There also aren't very many good red dragons around here so chances of finding one that quality are slim.

I'd want to side with you, because from my impression of the comparison, they are quite similar, and yeah i agree that the flowers line up, and i noticed the tear as well.. but you just can't ever be sure... Its pretty cool if it was true though, but yeah I'm sure there is thousands of Fh's out there, so its hard to say, Is the seller from the same area??

Seller was within 40 miles of me. There really are not very many nice flowerhorns in this area. There are a lot of low-grade old school zz trimac looking flowerhorns around but none this nice. I'm probably 1 in 10 people who have imported fish within this area and I don't think there were that many people importing red dragons from Rainnybetta 2 years ago over here. The size also matches up to me. If he was 5-6" when I sold him he would probably be about 9-10" by now.

definatly not the same fish. just look at the flower lines. yours was almost all connected the one for sale have desperate spots.

Did you look at the spots? If you'd ever raised a flowerhorn you'd know that flowerlines don't stay exactly the same throughout the entire life of the fish.
