its been there almost 2 years now just outside through rain and all kidns of oter things... Is there anyway i can clean it to go into a tank or should i just toss it????

if it's still solid i dont see why not but you will have to clean it really well. not sure on size but if you can boil it that would work best.

yea its small enough to boil... so just boil it and its good to go in my tank???

Toss it in some hot water and let it sit over night and then toss it in the tank.

i would soak it in hot water and scrub it with a brush of some type to get all the possible gunk off and out of any crevices and then once you think its good to go i would boil it to kill off any bacteria you cant see.

Boil it, scrub it, Boil it and maybe scrub it again if necessary.

yes i would boil it also although the piece i got from petsmart i didn't boil.i did set it in a bucket for several days till it came clear, while changing the water 5 or 6 times a day.

even now it still leaches a little tannin, nothing objectable though.i have it in a 29g and change about 50to 75% of the water weekly.

next time i will boil mine however.allwet.....

easiest way to "sterilize" driftwood. Boil, scrub, rinse, bake... that's right. Baking will turn the water trapped in to steam... instant auto-clave!
