Ok,I went browsing around petsmart, last week, found a 150 gallon tall aquarium, with lid, light, and stand for 529 dollars.I saw a 120 gallon long tank, just by itself for 360 dollars.I like both of them, but I would think after buying everything separate for the 120 gallon long tank, that it may add up to the same price as the 150 gallon or more.the long tank dimensions were at 5ft or 6ft possible,18 to 20 inches wide, standing tall maybe 4ft the most. The 150 gallon is at least 5ft in length, close to 24 inchs wide, standing about 5ft tall or a little more.which one would benefit the Oscar,Jack Dempsey, pleco, then 3 other fishes I want to get in the future.

I found this which is the most common dimensions for the 120 and 150 gallon tanks. I would go with the 150 gallon. Aquarium stands are pricey so youll end up paying more for the 120 then the 150.

I'd definitely just go with the 150, if you don't, you''l eventually wish you did. And I agree with the above post, your dimensions are pretty innaccurate. Also, the height of an aquarium is the distance from the bottom of the glass to the top, not the distance from the floor to the top of the tank.

Are those dimensions for the long and tall aquarium?
Oh, I was thinking of just a regular 150 and 120, a 150 tall is going to be 48x24x31, a 120 long will be 60x18x26, so I'd actually go with the 120 since it gives you more options for stocking.

ok,that is what I thought then, since the 120 gallon was a long tank, while the 150 was tall.Sorry for the confusion,if it didn't explain myself too well of what I saw.I have a long dresser that weighs more then 500Ibs,so I may use that as my stand.

There is also a 150 that is 72x18x30 which is a tall tank as well lol.

Yeah, but that is the "150" that is actually 170 gallons. :grinno: The true 150 tall is 48x24x31. (sometimes I really can't stand aquarium manufacturers, why can't they just call their tanks what they actually are?).

Haha, I know. It figures to be like 165 by the converter on mfk. I hate how many different tank sizes there are. I buy and refinish and sell aquariums and stands and equipment and I've seen some weird ones. Came across a tank that was 48x12 like a 55g but was only about half the height.
