I'm planning on a 360 gallon plywood and glass tank this summer and I would like to know if a 8x3x2 plywood tank can be made without an external frame or minimal internal bracing. I know top braces will need to be there and that won't bother me at all but an external frame will not only look bad or need extra money to cover up, but would require extra time and work.

I would also like to know if a side window can be added to a tank like this and maybe an estimate of what it might cost (I currently figure $800 to $1000 not including filtration or lighting).

framing a tank is a cheaper way of building the support. you can build it without the frame just your walls will have to be thicker material. if your 8Lx3Wx2D then you will have no issues I would build it out of marine grade 1"ply myself if not building a frame if your 3'Deep then you may need 2 layers to prevent bowing. I don't know for sure I like to overbuild. someone correct me if I'm wrong adding a window in the end wouldn't be a big deal it would be the same process as the front window and the cost of the pane of glass or acrylic. have you decided if you are gonna use glass or acrylic yet? that is a big factor on price

It's 2'H and 3'W. And I am definitely going with glass.

That's and amazing tank. It's like all the benefits of plywood and glass combined.
