I got these Franciscodoras marmoratus from Predatory Fins when he first brought them in and since it's not an often-seen fish I figured I'd share a pic and video. Again, my apologies for the poor quality of my pics and video. I broke my DSLR a long time ago now and have yet to replace it. I am seriously thinking about a light box for some of my fish pics. I have some not often seen fish who hide way too much to take pics of in tank. So, a specimen box and light box maybe something that may help me take some good pics with my Iphone so I can feature some rare fish and share my experiences with them. Maybe help show what makes some of these fish interesting to me.
I personally like Doradidae, they have to me a prehistoric look to them due to their thorny scutes and their peaceful nature makes them good community fish; even small fish are generally safe. Doradidae can be very secretive and Franciscodoras is no exception in my experience so far but mine are juveniles. At an adult size of 14 inches SL they are manageable and a good alternative for those who like larger Doradidae but don't have the tank size for the larger species. The first pic and first 2 videos are mine, but I added two more videos of Franciscodoras I found through google.
