I've been toying with a few ideas of modding one of the Hot Magnums that i already have. I took it off the tank because it had a leak in the intake tube and i've been waiting to repair/replace the part.
I'm sure this sounds a little crazy, but since I already have the primary components I figured it was worth tinkering with. The HOT Magnum will now be fed with a skimmer kit that I found online for 6 bucks. I also picked up the outlet piping for a HOT Mag Pro. With this Piping, I plan on the return line through a UV sterizer and then building custom return.
Anyone see any major flaws with these ideas? I'm waiting on the parts for the skimmer and the sterilizer to arrive, so I have a few days before I actually start putting this all together. I'll be sure to take some pics while I work on it.
