I have a 6 inch JD that has been eating gold fish his whole life. He has always been extremely aggressive toward any fish in the tank, even his lady (another super aggressive JD). I recently got 3 red devils, 2 green terrors, and 2 mayans (all between 1.5 and 3 inches), and I threw in about 12 goldfish for them to chase around and kill and eat. To me it is entertaining. The Mayans (both 1.5 inches long) were chasing them around and killing goldfish that were an eighth of an inch longer than they are (super cool to watch) and the rest of the fish would eat them once killed (lazy scavengers). Now there are 8 left and for some reason they aren't being eaten. In fact my big dempsey is protecting them from the other fish. I know he is hungry because he always comes up and "begs" when Im by the tank. The stupid gold fish have been adopted it seems. I want them gone!

Well, from your profile, it seems in a short while, your rtc is going to eat all your fish then grow legs, burst your tank and beat you up for putting him in such a small tank.

If you get rid of the rtc then I think eventually your midevil is going to kill everything and live alone in the 85 gallon tank.

JD is protecting the goldfish for when he wants to eat them.

Try adding minnows with the goldfish. The goldfish might be to big and not worth the effect of killing and only able to pick at the fish instead of swallowing it whole. Your fish might be aggressive because you feed them live food. If you raise them on pellets they might be less aggressive.

I give them live food because I want them to be aggressive. And there is only one fish that is big enough to est them whole. My 2 Mayans killed a bunch for fun haha

dude, its not healthy to buy feeder goldfish...... breed your own feeders then feed your fish those..... petstore goldfish more then likely has many diseases you dont know about, as they are not well taken care of.......
