Da U.P.
I recently picked these guys up. They were listed as Parachromis friedrichsthalii, and since I've never had the chance to raise some up I snapped up a few. Problem is they kinda look like motaguensis to me. I've kept adult red motas before in undergrad and these guys just look like em (it's been a few years though). I know the friedrichsthalii/loisellei/motaguensis can resemble one another when small. Can anyone help me out here?

Kinda look like Parachromis motaguensis but im no id expert.

Yeah I know they are not jags. The vert bars make me go with freddies, but that red color on the plate makes me wonder..

Maybe motaguensis/friedrichsthalii mix.Don't realy look like any loisellei in them.

The first 2 look like motaguensis and the last 2 friedrichsthalii

i am pretty sure you got some motas there buddy ..but still a good buy..

I agree that those are Parachromis motaguense.

Oh well. Mine never had that much red on them. Is this the "red tiger" variant then?

How big are these fish? They don't quite look like freddies to me, but I haven't had motas to compare. You can see pictures of my 3" freddies here. I'll post up some more current pictures when I get a chance.
