I posted an ad for this guy about a month or so ago.
I work as the aquarist at the Cabela’s in East Hartford, CT. This guy was brought into the store by the owner who had him in a tank that was much too small for him. I need to find a new home for him as soon as possible. Our tanks usually only display locally caught or supplied game fish that can be found in Connecticut and obviously he doesn’t fit that description. I have delayed as long as I can but management would like him out as soon as possible. He is healthy, eats well, and hasn’t had any problems with the other fish in the tank.
I am hoping to find someone who would be willing to do a pick up as I don’t really have any experience shipping fish and he’s quite a big fish.
If you are able to give him a good home or know someone else who might be interested please get in touch. I am not usually able to access this site from the work computers so please email me at adrian.plowman@cabelas.com . Thanks!

I realize that the chances are slim that I will find someone to take him but I had to give it one more try before I am forced to start looking into euthanasia. I'd love to take him home myself but I barely for a 20 gallon tank and I think that might be just a bit too small for him.

Bring it to a lfs. I know Waterbury aquarium takes in fish and will have space for a big pacu

How big is it exactly? Is it truly 14"? I have 3 pacu currently in a 300 gal pond.

The Cabellas in Hamburg, Pa has several large tropical and goldfish in one of heir display tanks. They even made placards describing the fish, so they aparrently are permanent.

14" was my best guess. It's hard to get an exact measurement on him when he is in the tank. He might be a little bigger, maybe 16" or 17".

Yeah I know the Hamburg, PA store has a tropical/exotic tank. Unfortunately, our store doesn't have anywhere near the capacity they do. They have 3 tanks each larger than the ones we have here. If we had four tanks instead of two they would still all fit inside their big tank with room to spare. I wish I had the space they do so I could be as flexible in my displays.
