oh no doubt about it, i was thinking about trading it in for store credit.. but i had terrible thoughts of it being crammed in to a 20G by some spoiled 10 year old

Patience, most people will not have a 1000 gallon+ tank/pond. Don't worry, you'll find it a good home by the end of the week...
