I have had my blood parrot for about 5-6 months now and she is in a large tank. She had bullied/ killed so many of my other fish it’s time for a new home. The water parameters are 100% perfect with the temp being spot on. She killed my 2 Oscar’s, 3 catfish, 2 snails, almost killed my Flowerhorn, and now she is bullying the other blood parrot and he has torn fins and marks in his body. I have moved her to a new tank so maybe she will calm down but that didn’t help. I have re-arranged the tank about 10 times while covering the whole tank in blankets when finished to block 100% of the light. The last water change I pulled her out and placed her in a bucket for about 1 hour with an air stone while I yet again re-arranged the entire tank pulling out everything and starting over. That has only increased her aggression. Whenever the other fish move anywhere she flys at them and rams them pushing them into a corner and bashing repeatedly. I have tried everything that the internet and YouTube mostly going off of Kave Man Aquatics and still no avail. So she is for free for whoever wants the craziest, most aggressive blood parrot on the face of the planet. I will be moving her to her own tank by herself until someone comes and gets her. She has great color and is about 5- 6 inches long. Beautiful fish and one of my favorite species of fish but she has caused so many problems all I can think left is to re-home her to someone that is more equipped for a fish of this nature.

FINWIN FINWIN - seems right up your alley…
Must be some blood parrot to kill an Oscar and give a fh a run for its money. Have you tried bringing it to a local fish store?

She is a menace. My Oscar’s just allowed it sadly even when I pulled them out it was too late. The fh tried his best to fight back but his beak of a mouth fit right inside the BP’s gaping hole of a mouth and it was over. I have contacted my local pet shop where I purchased her but they won’t take her bc of her attitude and they don’t have a segregated tank for her.

Sounds like my beloved parrot Patch...off the charts personality but so aggressive she had her own tank (she also had a mouth of teeth). Why not just set the parrot up in her own tank? Seems like you're fighting a losing battle going through all those changes. Some fish are best alone. My other female parrot Kong is also hyper aggressive but playful. She can't be trusted with other fish either...I have a large male acara I temporarily put in with her and had to remove him ten minutes later because she almost had him jumping out. My parrot Tango is quirky and a kook. He gets along with every fish except parrots. Parrot Boss is best buds with my Oscar and has what I call 'calculated' aggression. He only fights when it's to his advantage.

If you set up a tank for her alone you might find her behavior moderates. It would improve chances for interaction. My personal experience has been overall the females are worse than the males, but that's not a reliable observation. High water flow/toys help burn off excess energy that leads to aggression. Almost all of my parrots play with hollow balls and large shooter marbles. I buy the party favor balls, punch a hole in them and fill them with water and sand.
