The Real Norcal
You heard right MFK, Gustave needs to be brought in,even if I have to give up my MFK decals to see it happen, and you get a trip to Lake Tanganyika out of it as well,LOL

So who else has watched Primeval?I rented it thinking it was going to be another cheesy giant croc movie like lake placid but I must say I was greatly mistaken.Thats not to say it doesn't have it's cheesy moments but overall the fact thats its a (mostly) true story had me thoroughly entertained and indeed even rather (very) intrigued.(although that did also have a lot to do with the fact that Gustave lives in and around Lake Tanganyika)

After the movie I just had to look into the actual existence of Gustave the Crocodile and separate fact from fiction, and there wasn't much to separate let me tell you.

In the beginning the movie says "based on a true story", and at the time I thought no more of it then when I had seen the same statement made at the beginning of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", but in all actuality many of the things in the movie actually happened to some extent at one time or another in Gustaves long reign of terror, just not all at once to the same team of people.

-I found accounts of "something" dragging a 20' long 7' wide bear trap into the water and on the same night a rainstorm had destroyed the surveillance equipment, but not before it recorded a short film showing only a pair of (widely spaced) shiny croc eyes peeking out of the water.

-I found accounts of Gustave taking a Russian hunters wife from the shore right outside their cabin.

-I found accounts were several researchers have agreed that Gustave does indeed kill for sport, and not always because he's hungry. Also even when he does kill for food he almost always rips of the limbs and takes the abdomen, leaving the torso (rib cage) and head.He takes the softest and easiest parts and then goes off to kill some more.

-I have found accounts that Gustave has been personally brought under tremendous firepower only to retreat back into the water seemingly unharmed.

-I have found accounts that Gustave has on at least one occasion left the water and ran down a man on foot, catching him and returning to the water.

-I have found reports that Gustave is unafraid to attack people who are in groups and even flip over small to mid size boats to get people into the water.

-experts agree that Gustave is at least 60 years old, possibly as old as 100 years.

-Gustave has reportedly killed in excess of 300 people. He kills 15-20 people along the banks of the river when he travels to wherever it is he sometimes goes (which is still unknown)

I also hunted down a few pics of the real Gustave. One shows a young man holding up a photo of Gustave sun bathing in the very shallows where the men in front of him are fishing...another shows Gustave sun bathing next to (and indeed, behind, even) "regular" size crocs.

anyhow thats my $0.02......it just has me interested.......
whatya guys say? With MFK decals on the line I expect to see this croc in captivity by tomorrow afternoon....:naughty:
