Free Polypterus Is The Best Polypterus

Went to the fish store to pick up some treats for my fish and a guy came in wanting to get rid of a fish he said was too mean for his tank. In his bag is a ~7 senegal, nice and fat. I asked him how much he wanted for it and he said I could have it. So here he is. He's quite a bit bigger than my delhezi, but I've been watching them close all day and they ignore each other.

You should have asked, what is the diet of the senegal when it was still with him...

I asked him what he was eating and he said that he was eating sinking carnivore pellets which is what I feed mine. I might try feeding this guy some silversides when he warms up to me a little more. I'm hoping he'll make my little delhezi more active but they've been ignoring each other for the most part.

More polys=bigger poly pile. I'm not sure it makes them more active, it just raises the possibility of seeing one.

Looks like a longfin

I'm fairly new to polys and did not even realize there were longfin variety. After looking at some pics I don't think he is. The longfins I saw photos of have almost beta like fins.
