There is a "Hairy" puffer at my LFS & they have offered it to me for free. If I set up one more tank, I'll be homeless, so I'm hoping someone here is into oddball fish. This puffer has to be house alone--it will kill any tank mates. Needs a minimum of 20g. It sits in it's cave all day & only comes out to eat, which is why my LFS can't seem to get rid of it. It's priced at $149 but they are actually worth much more to the right buyer. Unfortunately, there are no puffer collecters in the area.

It has "hairy" appendages all over it's body & looks like this fellow:

They will ship.

i would love a hairy puffer shame im in uk currently i have a 6x4x4 with MBU + blue acara and a few barbs and loaches / botia

i have a 4x3x2 just sitting unused using as a hospital tank :(

WOW a free T. Baileyi?

I remember when these first hit the market a few years back.. $300-$400 was not uncommon for this uber rare species.

Pufferpunk, I would totally take this puffer but I am in the same boat as you ~ any more tanks and I'll be toast!.. not to mention I wouldn't want to ship it around, it should be able to find a good owner in the Chicagoland area. :-)

If you desperately need to give it a home.. I have an empty 55g that he could have, just let me know how to work out shipping costs. ;)

awww looks cute! i think unwanted fish have a place in some one's heart and they love them more :D

i'm sure someone here would really really want it :D

Like I said, folks around here just don't know what this fish is. Looks like a turd that rarely comes out of it's cave. Shipping should run about $80. Serious inquiries should PM me for details.

What a hell of a deal! I've wanted a Tetraodon baileyi for a long time now. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat, and was in enough trouble when I brought home my last puffer. I'll have to check with the wife, as she rules on these things, but she does like her puffers.

Puffer,

I PM'd you on the other forum, Ill take it!

Thanks,
Chris
