For those who have iguana's (or used to have) and let it free roam, where did you keep the enclosure, and which rooms were they allowed into?

I just recently put or rhino iguana into a spare bedroom with his new terrarium. It generally stays warmer in there, but the only reason we go back there is to see him. Its a fairly small room (about 8'x10') with not much he could get into, hardwood floors, and glass french doors leading out to the deck.

My question is, would it make a difference if we left him in that room, or if we moved him into the bedroom with us? My fiance really wants to move him in our bedroom. I was kind of thinking it would be better to leave him in the back room, but we could bring him in the bedroom whenever we wanted to.

What do you guys think: spare bedroom, or our bedroom with us?

i voted the spare bedroom because it sounds safer for him, but with careful monitoring the bedroom would work too

Think your bedroom is better. He may make a bit of a mess but it is better to keep an eye on him.

I used to have an iguana ages ago :) I named him pickle and he roamed my bedroom. I would leave the windows open and he liked to crawl up and cling onto the screens and just hang out. I think though, that you should only let it roam the bedroom if there is someone there to monitor it, since there would be more stuff around to get into...

I agree, I would only let him out when you are there. Julio's cage stays closed while I am in class but he gets lots of time to roam the living room and courtyard while I am home.

Well he would only be out when we're home, but my fiance is home most of the day, so he'd get a chance to be out quite a bit.

When you are home, are you in the bedroom he would be roaming in?

We would only let him free roam while we were home and in the room with him, at least for now.
