how does every1 who gets ridiculous free deals? the closest thing i came to getting a free tank was a ten gallon that was in a garbage pile outside an old crack house down the street from me. however 3 pains were cracked that i didnt notice from my school bus so no tank for me.

You have to live in a good neighborhood or visit one where people have lots of money to throw away and aren't worried about getting a few bucks for something. Rather have it out of their way asap..

Even then it's a crap shoot. Have to be in the right place at the right time with damn good luck.

Check out craigslist often, you can even post your own wanted ad on craigslist. Also if lots of people know that your into fish then your chances are better, if someone wants to give stuff away.

It helps if you live in a big city and know friends that are into fish. Good deals are usually spread through friends that know somebody; not ads.

I go into Detroit, and put up flyers. There's ALWAYS people who are getting rid of an aquarium.
