Hi MFK - first of all i appologize for my crappy lights...i cant seem to get a good lighting system set up for this huge tank
my prized fish are my Festae! lots of folks have been after me for an update and here it is. As far as i know these festae are wild from Ecuador and were sold to me from a man that owns a LFS in washington dc. where they were collected i dont know, but he said he gets them once a year if hes lucky...i sure felt lucky finding this monster!
the male is pushing 13"+ hes extremely docile and really laid back. he only gets aggressive when its food time, he will chase others away from the pellets that hit the substrate until he picks up what he wants. i would estimate his weight around 2-3 lbs.
the female has grown a lot since ive had her, she is VERY aggressive and has no problem letting bigger fish know shes in charge. ide say shes close to 8-9" she has unusual colors, unlike most females i see. only her face and fins are really vibrant red, her body is almost neon yellow. i will be moving these guys into their own tank soon as im seeing more and more flaring and color-changing.
all in all i have 3 males and 2 females and these two are by far my favorite
