Freeze dried black worms mix / and freeze dried beefheart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have grown out all my Discus on FDBWs (from Al or Dan) and Super Beefheart Flake from Bill at Inland Empire Discus so your plan will work great IMO. Clean water is the most important aspect in Discus husbandry IMO.

 From a prev post -
"There are a number of different things you can choose to diversify your discus' diet. Mine is a bit extreme (OCD) but the choices are many. Food varies every couple a days - live blackworms, Hans frozen beef mix, San Fran Bay Frozen Bloodworms, Mysis Shrimp, Ocean Nutrition Discus Flakes, Als Austrailian freeze dried blackworms, O.S.I. Spirulina Flakes, NLS Discus Formula pellets & Dainichi Cichlid - Color FX + Vita-Chem once a week". "T"

FDBWs are great. A little variety would be nice, like the super beefheart flake or the new cobalt flake. If Hans endorses and uses it, it's should be pretty good.

It wouldn't hurt IMO to use a quality pellet (NLS .5mm) as the staple while using the FDBW & BH flakes as supplements.

.5mm is too small for the discus except when very young. 1 mm is best, I have a pound of 2mm NLS Thera A I am tossing as my discus are not interested at all, they do eat 1mm pellets (that is the NLS Discus size too).
