I have been feeding my 3 silver arowanas nothing but pellets for a month now, but I decided to give it something else to mix up the diet... and I ran into Hikari Freeze-dried krill (no presoaking needed), and my fish love it . However, the stores in my area only sell them in small little canisters (I have something against online ordering so that's not really an option for me), and I can't afford to pay 10 bucks for each can cuz they'd finish one in a few days (if i feed morning pellets, night krill). My LFS, however, does supply this chinese brand ("Rainone Krill-e", and it does have english on the can as well) in big canisters for 12 bucks, and I decided to try it out. It doesn't mention that I have to pre-soak it (because some brands require it), but I don't want spare parts to choke out my aros or pierce them. The pieces are rather long (about an inch each krill), what do you think I should do? Pre-soak or no? The arowanas are like a foot long each.
Oh and should I be fishy about this canister? The krill seem to be darker than the pinkish color hikari provides. (pictures are below... top is hikari bottom is other)
