Can i feed Freeze Dried Shrimps to my 4" rtc? and if i can do i need to cut the head and tail off of the shrimp ? and do i have to lower the water level so the rtc can see better? or it will only eat food that sinks to the bottom

RTCs are not fussy. they eat just about anything ANYWHERE in the tank regardless if its on the bottom or floating. it is reccomended that u cut off the sharp bits of the shrimp. especially for such a young 4'' RTC.

hmm so i'll cut off the sharp part but how long do i leave it in there before i take it out?

if you put it in at night and it is still there in the morning take it out. Some people say 5 mins, but usually I get up in the middle of the night to pee and if there is uneaten food in my tanks I take it out then, but if you want to sit around and watch them in the dark that is pretty cool too. Will give you some insight on their hunting and nightime activity. You'll be suprised how alive your tank is when it's dark. If you watch in the dark for 30-an hour and they don't eat it, you are probably safe to take it out, but if you don't have time to sit around and you have a strong filtration system you can leave it in there til the morning and remove uneaten/fish vomit in the morning. Has your fish began to eat yet? Hope you have that larger tank on the way.

haha yup im still waiting for my cuzin give the flower horn to his friend and i can have his tank. ierno the deminsions yet but it's pretty big. and it has been eating market shrimps

dw soon it will. its only a matter of time. most RTCS eat just about anything and everything that can fit into their mouths! WATCH OUT

you should definately feed the rtc shrimp occasionally, it will help mix up its diet and aid in digestion, shrimp can also help enhance color. I hand feed my ARTC river shrimp, not very often though... its a treat. make sure you take the spine off the tails, as they can poke you or your fish.
good luck!
