Has anyone ever use red cherry shrimp as live food for fish? I heard if these thing can get their claws on fish eggs or fish fry they will eat them. My plan was to freeze red cherry shrimps and later thaw them and use them to condition my fish for breeding...

I've fed extra cherry shrimp from my planted tank to my fish before...they seem to be worth more as LFS trade ins though... Ghost shrimp ime are just as easy to breed. But yes I've fed them w/ no issues. as for eating eggs ect. unless you're tossing more then your fish can eat into the tank and they are maintaining a population the chances of them eating eggs and fry is minimal imo. they stay tiny, and prefer algae as a general rule. I wouldn't put anything past anything.. but I've never heard about them predating fry or eggs.

Theyre harmless they dont even really have claws. Your fish will eat them right up. Even fry will pick at them probably. I have red cherry shrimp and feed them to my fish. But if you wanna freeze them go ahead.

wtf, I used to put cherry shrimp with my cories eggs with java moss to keep the area clean and free of fungus. I had zero egg loss unless they were not fertlized. The shrimp did the job and ate the infected egg. I wish I could keep them again but I have too many fish in different tanks that would not let them survive.
