I belong to a V-Bulletin style forum that's just for conversation (which obviously shall remain nameless), same format as this. There is a member in Malaysia who I discuss fish with, since he knows a red arrow breeder and post pics whenever he can for me.He knows I like fish.
Then I saw these.

I am still waiting for his response on whether he took these in a damn mall or what.
It looks like they are in a bloody fountain.
Is this how the king of FW fish is treated?

I will post the response of where these are as soon as I see it.

These fish will still be in this predicament regardless.

I know 99% of you will think this is pointless. These pics wouldn't have come out if I didn't belong to that cruddy forum.
Besides, I've NEVER seen sub-adult AG's in this small of an enclousre.

Hide the screen from sam.

Looks shallow, but could be 50 ft by 50ft footprint for all I know! lol
Beautiful gigas though.

From him just now.

"Its taken from the biggest FW aquarium/fish shop in town ...... XianLong ....... its a renovated bungalow lot...... the boss never allows pics in the place ... but he wasnt in yesterday and my friend works there ...... so I snuck out a couple pics.... hope you liked them

see the coins at the bottom of the pool ? the folks toss them in fer luck .. kinda like a wishing well kinda thing ...."

Very nice, isnt coins in a water system bad thou?

More.

"the tiles are what ? 6" ? 8" tiles ?...... so ......... mebbe 24 .... 26 feet in length ? about 12 ~ 14 feet wide ?

If you ask me how deep I'm gonna toss ya in it ... LMAO !!!! .... I have no idea how deep ... i didnt ask nor did I go fer a dip ........

I was rushing out the shots ..... couldnt get a really good pic .... they dont stay still ... plus the lighting was **** ... the reflection off the water meant only a small part of the pool was usable fer the shots"

Theres a lot of places here in Malaysia that put Araipaima in that condition, pretty shallow places and most of it people throw coins in it for good luck...very very common...VERY....sad but yeah.

Even more.
Me:"Is this the place with the Arapaima?">>http://arowanaclub.com/clubevent/XLF/XLfarm11.htm

"the shop in town .... yes ..... the baungalow building ... the arapaimas were 17years old in 2003 ... didnt know that LOL
the link shows the farm where the arowanas are bred..'

About the arrow farm in his neighborhood, the link he sent that I posted.

"theres one great big red ...... grand ..... majestic ....... really hynoptic just seeing it

many tried to take pictures of it but NEVER turns out clear or sharp ... no matter pro or amateur .... fancy camera or not .... it just wont make a picture .....

now no one even bothers to try ..... and rumor has it that bad things happen to the people that tries to photograph it ...... one of our many urban legends .... its still there at the farm ... prolly be about ... what ...... 16 years old now the fish .... "
