ok ive read alot of threads about fish like mangrove jacks, bumblebee groupers, etc... and i get such a mixed answer as to what kind of water some fish need. ive read just as many success stories with mangroves in fw as i have sw/brack water. assuming that these fish clearly can travel from fw to full sw does this mean that if you were to keep one in a tank, would the salt mixture have to be perfect all the time? if when it went to eventuall sw in the tank would someone still have to use ro/di water, or would tap suffice for the wc water? could wc's be done like a fw tank, add water and salt directly to tank?
these questions are under the assumption that if a fish is so hardy/adaptable that they could whithstand safely changes in salinity during wc's?
