hello everyone. im new to the forum. im a big fan of giant fishes. i had 2 Arapaimas, 2 Alligator Gars and 8 Red Pacus back home(Philippines) before. they were housed in a 250,000 gal pool converted into a pond. unfotunately i had to give them all up when i moved to Canada. im planning to do up another Mega tank in my back yard but as of now a mega pond inside a green house type of thing is the best bet. i like arapaimag's idea but thats seems so much more costly than doing up a pool type pond.

Sooo...... Do it. And post pics.

well actually I'm on the planning stage right now. that is why i joined this forum to gather as much infor for this project as i can. this would be a DIY project and its my first time to build a pond too.

more info = better pond in the long run

check out the article section has some good info on building ponds and monster tanks. welcome to mfk

Welcome... I'm sure you'll be able to find all of the info that you need here. What type of pond were you planning on building? Inground, above ground, combo, viewing windows? I can't wait for pics. Good luck with your project.

at first i wanted to build something like arapaimag's tank but it looks really costly. i thought about the above ground idea but i wanted to make it look more natural since its going to be inside a green house(probably custom built aswell. i wasnt sure how i was going to go about this idea so i had the idea of inground so it looks more natural from above but i wanted the window aswell. it would just seem akward if you had to bend down just to look at the window. what do you guys think? any suggestions?
