Fresh vegetable question

Hello all,

First off thanks again for the advice on feeding and housing my lovely adonis. Since that post I have made sure to put aside some cucumber or carrots when we eat it ourselves, but I've come across a bit of a problem that I should've realized: The stupid things don't sink to the bottom! I have tried wedging pieces in crevices in the driftwood or half burying them in the bottom, but they come loose every time. The only advice I got from the fish store where I bought my adonis is to put it under a rock, but that doesn't really seem like a good solution to me.

Are there tools I could buy so the vegetables stay on the bottom and my adonis can eat them?

I use a stainless steel spoon with the handle pushed through whatever you are feeding. You could use a fork as well, but some people have concerns about fish injuring themselves on the tines.

I blanch mine. About a minute in boiling water and most will sink. I usually blanch a bunch and throw them in the freezer for future use. I also use wooden kabob sticks

Use a spoon easy to do and it doesn't hurt the fish

I use a small piece of slate and attach the veggie with a rubber band. Works like a dream.

I think the spoon and fork method work good look really bad.I would either blanch the veggies or try an elastic.

Blanching or cooking takes away from the nutritional value of the foods.

Spoons are best because they can't poke an eye out with them. I use forks and spoons as well as butter knifes.
