I think it is a brackish but acclimatized to fresh... Or just has not been moved in that direction yet. Or im wrong and there is an actual fresh water species of it.
There is only one species of this fish and they move to different types of water during their lives.
This Jack has been unsuccessfully passed off as red finned datnoids in some stores in my area...One place that used to take special order requests brought one in when I had ordered a Datnioides.They tried to convince me that was actually a dat lol.
How much does one of these beasts typically sell for?
