Hello everyone,

Im new here and had a question about an eel I just purchased. The owner at the LFS got a new shipment in so I went to have a look. Was in the market for a ropefish but saw this about 8 to 10 inch eel, and had to know more about it. He said it was a fresh water moray eel, so my first question was about the salt content it needed and he said none, so it dosnt need brackish? No it is fresh water. Asked him about getting along with my other fish, clown knife, channel cat, 2 bashirs, and a pleco in 125 gallon tank, no problem, im kind of suspiscious because of his short answers but I still left with the Eel, couldnt help myself. Well after doing some research it seems that there are actually no such thing as completly fresh water morays. Anyway if anyone has any experience with this eel I could really use some advice. I am giving him plenty of plants and caves for now but wondering if I should get my 75 gallon up and running brackish. Or could I find a happy medium for them all in the 125.

Thanks everyone
