fresh water moray eel

No Such thing as a Freshwater Moray....Good True Freshwater fish with a serpintine body are Polypterus and Spiny Eels search the forums for information on these TRUE Freshwater fish if you want a Moray you have to go Brackish or Full Saltwater

Huh? I didn't understnad this are you saying you have a 1ft long Bichir already? Or are you saying the moray is green with yellow spots? If it looks like a Moray and is a Moray it's Saltwater

They die. Simple as that. The osmotic pressure difference between fresh and saltwater is astounding... that is, if you live in that sort of thing.
 
Yes, nobody is keeping these in freshwater except for greedy and uninformed importers. The one you saw at the pet store will be dead soon unless somebody puts it in a marine tank.

I believe there are people that have kept Gymnothorax polyurandon in FW for some time...but for the common G. tile, best to keep in high levels of brackish or just SW
