From my own experience in the past i just want to say becareful when they die, as not only can they foul up water, but they stink really bad when they do die and aren't pleasant to deal with...

Either way, what are you feeding yours??? or do you have a bit of a green water problem in your tank (which from the pics doesn't seem to be the case)...

Palaeoheterodonta are filter feeders. They filter free floating plankton and microscopic animals. Unless you are introducing these types of food into your tank they are going to die. You cant just throw anything into your tank and expect it to live. Proper research goes a long way to ensure a healthy tank and fish..
Im not trying to flame here and i apologize if it sounds that way but people just dont think/research sometimes. Mussels are NOT a good animal for an aquarium, not to mention the diseases they can introduce to your aquarium(when caught in the wild).

^_^ i have done my research! ..they do give off babies that reside in the gills of the fish...of one host fish and they are not even sure on the species of fish they attach to, most likely for these guys its a local sculpin.

they were quarantined for a month, they live in my 10 gallon and get fed green water with an eye dropper and crushed up algae wafers..they seem to be doing fine so far ^_^

thank you for all the feed back

Looks pretty cool, nice setup.

I'd have thought that the first sentence saying you'd had them for 5 months would indicate that you had experience and obviously weren't starving them, but I guess not. :grinno:
