Hey folks...I usually am pretty good about doing my "Homework" first but got a little lazy today. I was wondering about what I could add to my 90 with a JD, GT, FM, and 9-10" Plecostamus that might cruise the bottom. I have had cories and pleco's etc before but though a ray of some kind would be VERY cool.

Is it a possibility? Would I need a bigger tank or are there FW species that will work in my set up? If so do you have pics? The footprint of my 90 is 48" x 18" and its 24" high

Honestly I know nothing about them right now but If I have a species name I'll look up the rest

thanks to all!! :headbang2

RESEARCH FIRST MORE. ITS WORTH IT! U need to do your homework and figure out eveyrthing you can about these mysterious fresdhwater rays. If i were you, I would get a teacup ray at your LFS and try that out AFTER READING MORE ABOUT THEM. The teacups usually at LFS are REtic Rays, and are fairly common. I have one now, that greya good 5 inches or so in a lil less then a year so far.

Good luck, there an awesome pet, and showpiece... just make sure theyre happy.

Fast answer.........no rays

hha exactly...ur tank has enough fish in it anyways.. if u have a 90 with basically nothing in it... u may be able to scrape by...

Agreed, bigger is better, always, at least that 's what she said lol !
But seriously, a 125 gallon is a great starter tank for smaller rays, then upgrade from there. a 220 to 300 is great for "dwarf species" of rays.
( retic, hummarosa, orbyngi etc.... ).

OK. Figured 90 might be to small. Don't have room for anything bigger right now tho. Might still do the research. Sounds like they'll be in the next tank in the next house :D

rays + plecos = no

yep not to mention if you're cichlids dig then you shouldn't get one either, so many reasons that tank won't work.

Also I would never reccommend a tea-cup ray to someone starting out with rays. Some people may buy them as their first but motoro is a much better starter ray.
