Fresh water sting rays legal in Maine?

As the title suggests, there's one for sale at a pet store (Pet Pro, Bangor Airport Mall). Wasn't sure on their legality, but I'm assuming they are. Figured that if anywhere, this would be the place to tell people about it. It's 40$, just a pup, a Motoro I think.
 
get a picture of it.... but for 40$ its either retic or some other cheap brown ray...

Yeah I didn't ask - just kinda felt bad for it. It's still small, I'd guess about 3-4 inches in diameter. The tank it was in was full of small gravel - but not small or fine enough for it to dig into - led me to think that either they didn't care or they didn't know about it. I can't afford to take care of it, but as I hadn't seen anything like it in Maine Pet Stores (granted I'm mostly in the Auburn/Augusta area) thought someone might have the resources to take better care of him.
It's cool that their legal though - maybe one day.
 
No room in my tanks for it. The Kennel shop in Augusta and Pet Quarters in S.Portland order them once in a great while.
