Hi guys, if anyone with archerfish experience help me here it would be appreciate it.

I have a 68 Gallon tank and would like to keep 3 smallscale archerfish (the FW ones)
would this tank be big enough for the 3?

also can i feed them crickets and or mealworms every so often with pellet/flake as a staple?

Any other tip/ care things i need to know?

While your waiting for experienced members to chime in type archerfish in the search bar ,and gather info there.

I would go a bit bigger on tank. If ur able to go 110 or bigger. The other is that you may need more fish. Archer need their aggression to be spread out amongst their own kind. Needing like 5-6 fish. I know others who have kept one without problem. Some have kept a small group and no issues but not the norm. I've kept 6 prior in a smaller tank and ran into fish getting picked and stressed out and not eating.

That's the problem. They need a good footprint to allow to keep a good sized group for all to thrive.

They can be fed crickets and mealworms.

The other is check which kind of archer it is. The ones from Asia are riverine and are good with freshwater.

The other need to be in brackish water. Some will tolerate freshwater but need to know if where the collection point was.

Well I only have the 68gal and I cant upsize so thats a shame :(
Well off to continue my search for interesting fish for my tank.
Thanks s for the info kno4te

+1 for everything already stated. What is the height on your 68g? Archer fish need a tall tank w/ overhanging plants to actually USE their water-bullet hunting method in captivity.....a very VERY tall tank filled halfway would suit you much better and as much foliage as you can fit comfortably in it.

I also wasn't aware there were FW Archers, I always thought they were brackish

There are 5 if I remember right "so called" freshwater species and 2 are brackish to full marine waters.
