freshwater banded bamboo sharks. is this a hoax?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this was on here a while ago. It is possible to do this but the fish will not last as long as they would in salt water. IMO its pretty cruel and pointless.

Yeah theres a thread two months ago or so about this "freshwater" shark along with fancy goldfish and mollies. (oh by way the blue fish is actually silver molly thats reflected from tank lights.)

We voted it was a hoax. People have tried this in the past, but they all kill the shark. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Yup it was hoax. The goldfish was recently dumped and you can see one goldfish have swimming trouble.

I wonder how many people inflected a slow death on their Bamboo Sharks trying to following this idiots misinformation. Pretty sad not to mention that most Bamboo Sharks are already redlisted as near threatened. :(

That's really a shame. Poor sharks. I wish people research first before following an advice when it comes to sharks especially as they are often the ones abused.

Yeah - even though the person that posted that video claims that they are freshwater. But as has already stated - it's a Hoax.

The truth is that the tank is most likely Brackish (at least 1.015 SG) - this would explain why the aquarist was able to keep Bamboo sharks with mollies & goldfish.

Although this isn't recommended - as it will likely stress both the freshwater fishes & the sharks.

wow people these days. sheesh!
