At what size do Hujetas sexually mature? Because I baught a pair, just about 5-6 inches and I have been seeing them both doing this particular dance. Both swimming close being side by side and then vibrating their tails as they move around in a dance together. Is this mating or an aggressive behaviour? Doesn't appear aggressive to me...

Thank you for your time.:)

i have two pink tailed characins that "dance" too. They seem to kinda follow eachother and whack the ***** out of eachother whith their tails every now and then. i think its aggression

Yes lol because I noticed jaws opening and striking sideways.:D

maybe they just like it rough?

lolol:ROFL:

Are they fighting regularly? Maybe they are married? LOL

Not anymore, what bugs me about them is that they freak out so easily and like crazy. I can't even move my hand before them and they shoot around hysterically which effects my Emperor Snakeheads ( juveniles too ) to freak out as well, I am worried if my Hujetas are effecting my Snakeheads' behaviour. Now my Snakeheads freak out until jumping out of the tank, I can't allow this to continue...:(

My two hujetas do the same sort of dance, in temperature of about 82 degrees. Today I found a tiny tiny what appears to be, hujeta.. in my 150 gallon tank.. Now I know they are supposed to produce nearly 1000, but im thinking, having just done a gravel cleaning and water change, Not to mention the 10 other fish in the tank maybe only this one survived?.... ...Or maybe its just the first?:nilly:

BTW,wrong section need to be moved!
