Are they still around? Legal to own? I haven't seen one recently at any LFS or heard much talk about them.
Freshwater Barracuda?

Yeah I got a 15 foot Great White in my basement too, but I was thinking more about the barracuda. 
then why ask on the cichlid forum? im pretty sure a freshwater barracuda has nothing to do with cichlids
Great question. I actually have no idea where it would fit, as I'm still learning about fish in that context. I have always thought certain fish were cool, even though I don't necessarily know where they are from or much about them. Where would it fit? I think a mod moved this thread, so I'm guessing it's in it's place.
I dont see them often but a LFS near me had around a half dozen a couple months ago. Cant remember what they were asking for em tho.
Liveaquaria I think has red tail freshwater barracuda if that's what kind you want. They don't have them in stock right now though.
