Sounds like the Water Cow, Eleotris picta. They can grow up to 15'' or more. Not a very active species, it lies on the aquarium bottom, waiting for food to come by.

DIFFERENT SPECIES

water cow up to 16 inches
marbled goby up to 2 feet

different patterns

care pretty much the same.
feed whatever and pretty hardy fish.
neither move much.

This fish has a creamy white coloring on top of its body with a bownish to olive coloring on its sides,it does seem to move around a bit when the lights are off,can i get it to eat shrimp or scallops or maybe even earthworms??

Mr. Grumpy Gills is 7 inches long. Had him for over a year and a half.
He ate a 3" goldfish last night. The saying about what ever a predator can fit in his mouth will eat is surprisingly true.
